THE JOURNEY
The Maginoo Organization embarked on a transformative journey on March 30, 2019, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Frank Eugene Real initiated online gatherings for his Zoom seminar entitled "Excessive Happiness: Knowing When to Stop," which highlighted the importance of understanding one's limitations in achieving happiness and prioritizing community support during challenging times.
Real conceptualized this group of men as "Maginoo," signifying men with honor, and extended invitations to join an organization.
Subsequently, he coined the acronym MaGiNoO, being magnanimity, giftedness, nobility, and optimism, to encapsulate the values of the group.
As the organization's influence expanded, so did its impact. In December 2021, Maginoo celebrated a significant milestone with its inaugural in-person meeting and Christmas celebration, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among its members. In January 2022, Maginoo reaffirmed its commitment to advocacy by making a heartfelt courtesy call at the General Trias Social Hygiene Clinic, dedicated to supporting HIV awareness and prevention efforts.
On April 2, 2022, Maginoo achieved SEC registration, earning official acknowledgment from the esteemed City Government of Dasmarinas Cavite. This milestone not only validated Maginoo's dedication but also propelled it to new heights of credibility and influence.
Throughout 2022 and 2023, Maginoo continued to make waves in the advocacy landscape. It took part in seminars, supported vital HIV testing initiatives, and provided free screenings for HIV, HEPA B, and syphilis. Notably, in October 2022, the organization's Program Head for Mental Health led a thought-provoking seminar addressing mental health concerns, further cementing Maginoo's reputation as a trailblazer in holistic wellness advocacy.
Maginoo's journey reached a crescendo in June 2023, as it proudly stood alongside partners like the Social Hygiene Clinic and the City Government of General Trias at the first LGBT Pride event. This momentous occasion underscored Maginoo's unwavering commitment to inclusivity, equality, and positive societal change.
From its humble beginnings to its status as a recognized force for good, the Maginoo Organization's journey is a testament to the power of unity, compassion, and collective action. With each milestone, Maginoo continues to inspire, uplift, and empower individuals, communities, and beyond, leaving an indelible mark.
The Maginoo organization’s logo features three individuals holding each other. The gray part represents challenges, while the yellow part signifies bridging gaps for mental health.
From 2021-2022, the organization used a colorful crown to represent gender equality and inclusivity among members, with a focus on mental health. It also engaged in HIV advocacy.
Since 2023, the organization has prioritized basic education and professional development, while continuing to promote gender equality, mental health, LGBTQIA rights, and HIV advocacy. The Maginoo organization aims to empower its members to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to their communities and society.
